Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED INDIAN MALE & FEMALE CANDIDATES from all the districts of all States and all Union Territories of India to join the IAF as Agniveervayu (Musician). The Recruitment Test will be held at 3 ASC C/O AF Stn Kanpur and 7 ASC, No. 1 Cubbon Road, Bengaluru as per the following selection programme:- Note: Registration for the rally will start at 1100 hrs on 22 May 2024 and will close at 2300 hrs on 05 June 2024 on web portal https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in. Only registered candidates issued with Provisional Admit Card are allowed to appear in the Recruitment Rally. 2. The recruitment test shall be conducted as per the details given above. Only candidates fulfilling eligibility conditions are to report as per the date, time and venue mentioned in Provisional Admit Card. Candidate must indicate two choices of venue for Recruitment Rally in order of preference during online registration. However, CASB reserves the right to allot venue for the Recruitment Rally which may or may not be as per choice of the candidate. Note: Candidates are to report at the designated rally venue on scheduled date/time as mentioned in the Provisional Admit Card without fail. They have to cater for any contingencies including late running of trains while planning their move. . ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS 3. Date of Birth Block. (a) Candidates born between 02 January 2004 and 02 July 2007 (both days inclusive) are eligible to appear in the Recruitment Rally. 4. Marital Status and Pregnancy. Only unmarried candidates (male & female) will be eligible for enrolment as Agniveervayu and they shall undertake not to marry during the defined engagement period of four years. Keeping in view limited period of engagement of Agniveervayu inclusive of training, skill development activities, practical as well as formative assessment and organisational requirement of continued service of Agniveervayu during the engagement period, longer absence of Agniveervayu during the engagement period will adversely affect the operational efficiency of the Indian Air Force. Agniveervayu who marry during the said period shall be discharged from the service. Further, only unmarried Agniveervayu will be eligible for selection in regular cadre as Airman. Female candidates additionally shall be required to undertake not to get pregnant during the engagement period of four years. Such women Agniveervayu on becoming Low Medical Category (LMC) due to pregnancy shall be liable to be discharged from service. Pregnancy will debar the women Agniveervayu for selection into Regular Cadre. At the time of enrolment, candidates shall require to sign a voluntary undertaking accepting above conditions”. 5. Educational Qualification and Musical Proficiency. (a) Educational Qualification. Passed Matriculation / 10th or equivalent with minimum pass marks from any Govt. recognized School/ Board. (b) Music Ability. (i) Candidates must have proficiency in music with accuracy in tempo, pitch and singing one complete song. They should be able to perform one preparatory tune and any of the notations i.e. Staff notation/ Tablature/ Tonic Solfa/ Hindustani/ Carnatic etc. Candidates must be able to tune individual instruments (in case of instruments require tuning) and match unknown notes on vocal or instruments. (ii) Candidates must have proficiency in playing any one instrument from list A or B. List – A List - B 1. Concert Flute / Piccolo. 1. Keyboard / Organ / Piano. 2. Oboe. 2. Guitar (Acoustic / Lead / Bass). 3. Clarinet in Eb / Bb. 3. Violin, Viola, String Bass. 4. Saxophone in Eb / Bb. 4. Percussion / Drums (Acoustic/ Electronic). 5. French Horn in F / Bb. 5. All Indian Classical Instruments. 6. Trumpet in Eb / C / Bb. 7. Trombone in Bb / G. 8. Baritone. 9. Euphonium. 10. Bass / Tuba in Eb / Bb. (iii) It is desirable that the candidates have proficiency in playing two instruments (one each from list A & B above). (c) Musical Experience Certificate. Candidates should have any one of the following experience certificates:- (i) Grade 5th or equivalent or above in one instrument from a recognized music institute such as TCL or RSM, KM Music Conservatory, Bangalore School of Music, TSM, GMI, Berklee School of Music etc. OR (ii) Diploma or equivalent in the field of music for candidates performing Hindustani or Carnatic Classical Music from any recognized University. OR (iii) Certificate of participation/ awards presented at various events. For such candidates’ performance/ playing of blowing instruments with staff notation as mentioned in Educational QRs. 6. Mandatory Medical Standards. General Medical Standards for Agniveervayu Male & Female candidates are as follows:- (a) Height: (i) For Male candidates: Minimum acceptable height is 162 cms. (ii) For Female candidates: Minimum acceptable height is 152 cms. For candidates belonging to North East or hilly regions of Uttarakhand, a lower minimum height of 147 cms will be accepted. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum height will be 150 cms. Note: Candidates availing height relaxation for being domicile of North East/Hilly Regions of Uttarakhand/Lakshadweep are to submit domicile certificate with endorsement of domicile status at the time of Recruitment Rally. Further, candidates from hilly regions of Uttarakhand must have specific endorsement of hilly region in their domicile certificate. (b) Weight: Weight should be proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF. (c) Chest: (i) For Male Candidates: The chest wall should be well proportioned and well developed. Minimum chest circumference should be 77 cms and the chest expansion should be at least 05 cms. (ii) For Female candidates: The chest wall should be well proportioned and well developed with the minimum range of expansion of 05 cms. (d) Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately. (e) Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. (f) Visual standards. Note: Candidates should bring latest prescription (not older than one month) and spectacles for corrected vision, if used. The prescription must bear the diopter measurement, name, signature, stamp and registration number of Ophthalmologist. Date of prescription should be within a month prior to appearing for medical examination. Visual Acuity Maximum limits of Refractive error Colour Vision 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6 each eye Hypermetropia: +2.0D Myopia: 1D Including ± 0.50 D Astigmatism CP-II (g) Corneal Surgery (LASIK/RK/PRK) is not acceptable. (h) General Health. Candidate should be fit for the Air Force, must conform to the medical standards and should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He/She should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or communicable disease, infection and skin ailments. Candidates shall be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain. (j) Gynaecological Examination (For female candidates): The examination covers external genitalia, hernia orifices and the perineum, any evidence of stress urinary incontinence or genital prolapse outside introitus. (k) Gender: Any candidate if found to have predominant characteristics of the opposite gender as evident on external physical examination, will be rejected as Unfit. Any candidate having undergone gender reassignment surgery will be declared Unfit. (l) Pregnancy (For female candidates): Any candidate, if found pregnant shall be disqualified and her candidature will be rejected. (m) Details of medical standards are available on CASB web portal https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in. 7. Consumption of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS). Consumption of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances banned under the NDPS Act 1985 shall be a reject criteria for selection into the IAF. Agniveervayu found either in possession or storing or distributing or consuming such drugs and substances after enrolment shall be liable for disciplinary action including dismissal from the IAF. ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY TO ALCOHOLISM AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE IS FOLLOWED IN IAF. 8. Body Tattoo. Permanent body tattoos are not permitted. However, tattoos only on inner face of the fore arms (inside of elbow to the wrist), back (dorsal) part of the hand/ reverse side of the palm and Tribals with tattoo which are as per the customs and traditions of their tribes may be considered. Offensive, obscene, indecent, sexist or racist tattoos are prohibited regardless of location on the body. However, right to consider a tattoo acceptable or unacceptable will rest with the selection centre. Candidates with permanent body tattoos are to submit two Postcard size photographs (close up and distant view) with details of size and type of the Tattoo during the testing. 9. Only Sikh candidates, whose religion prohibits cutting of hair or shaving of face, shall be permitted to grow hair and/or retain beard and moustache. Accordingly, those Sikh candidates willing to retain the same as per laid down specification are to get their photographs with beard and moustache. 10. Candidates discharged from Indian Army/Indian Navy/any other Government Organization shall also be eligible subject to their discharge with NO ADVERSE ENTRIES. Such candidate has to declare at the rally venue that he/she is an Ex-employee of above said organizations and produce original Discharge Certificate. In case of serving individuals, they must be in possession of NOC from their employer at the time of rally. If any candidate does not disclose the fact of being employed or that of being an Ex-employee, his/her candidature shall be cancelled at any stage during the selection process and if selected, shall be liable for discharge/ dismissal from the service for hiding the fact of his /her employment. Candidates discharged from Indian Air Force for any reason are not eligible to appear in the rally. Candidates debarred permanently from any previous Air Force exam due to malpractices or any unfair activity are not eligible to appear in the rally. If found at a later stage, the candidature will be cancelled automatically. 11. Musical Instruments, Writing Material and Documents Required. Candidates are to bring the following: - (a) Candidates are to bring their Musical Instruments for practical test, from the list ‘A’ & ‘B’ as mentioned in Para 5 (b) (ii) above. (b) HB Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Glue Stick, Stapler and Black & Blue Ball Point Pen for writing. (c) Provisional Admit Card. (d) Ten un-attested recent (not taken before six months) passport size colour photographs (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his/her chest with his/her name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters. (e) Original and four self-attested photocopies of Matriculation Passing Certificate and Mark Sheet. (f) Candidates are to bring original and four self-attested photocopies of Musical Experience Certificate in the Field of Music as mentioned in Para 5 (c) above. (g) Original and four self-attested photocopies of duly filled Children of Air Force Personnel (COAFP) Certificate (format available on AFNET CASB webpage) for Children of Serving Air Force Personnel (or) Original and four self-attested photocopies of Service Book/ Discharge Book/ Casualty Service Certificate/ Service Particular certificate (issued from DPO-3/ DAV, as applicable) in case of Officer/ Airmen/ NCs(E) and a certificate duly signed By OIC Civil Admin and countersigned by CO/ C Adm O of the last served unit, in case of civilians for children of retired/ deceased/ discharged Air Force personnel. (h) NOC in original and four self-attested photocopies from the employer for candidates presently serving in any government organization (if applicable). (j) Candidates discharged from Indian Army/ Indian Navy/ Any other Government Organisation. Original and four Self-attested photocopies of Discharge Certificate (as issued from Indian Army/ Indian Navy/ Government Organisation). (k) Original and four self-attested photocopies of NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate (if applicable). Note. Under no circumstances the candidates shall be permitted to appear in the rally without original educational marks sheets/ passing certificates & documents mentioned in paragraph 11 above. However, candidates with photocopies of educational marks sheets/ passing certificates may be permitted to appear in the rally only on production of a certificate from College/ Institution Principal certifying that original educational certificates/ marks sheets are deposited with College/ Institution. Agniveervayu will be enrolled in the Indian Air Force under Air Force Act 1950, for a period of FOUR years. Agniveervayu would form a distinct rank in the Indian Air Force, different from any other existing ranks. The Indian Air Force is not obliged to retain Agniveervayu beyond the engagement period of four years. 13. On completion of four years of service, based on organisation’s requirements and policies promulgated by the Indian Air Force, Agniveervayu will be offered an opportunity to apply for enrolment in the regular cadre of the Indian Air Force as Airman. These applications will be considered in a centralised manner based on objective criteria, including performance during their four-year engagement period and up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveervayu will be enrolled in regular cadre of IAF. Agniveervayu will not have any right to be selected for further enrolment into the Indian Air Force. Selection of the Agniveervayu for further enrolment, if any, shall be at the discretion of the Government of India. 14. Job Specification & Employability. As a musician you will become a part of the Air Force Band. If you join the Air Force as a musician you will be trained to play different musical instruments. Agniveervayu enrolled under this entry are also liable to be assigned any duty in organizational interest at the discretion of the Indian Air Force. 15. Training. On being enrolled, apart from training of playing various musical instruments, Agniveervayu will be imparted military training based on Indian Air Force requirements. 16. Leave. Grant of leave will be subject to exigencies of the Indian Air Force. The following leave is applicable for Agniveervayu during their engagement period: - (a) Annual Leave. 30 days per year. (b) Sick Leave. Based on medical advice. 17. Medical and CSD Facilities. For the duration of their engagement period in the Indian Air Force, Agniveervayu will be entitled for medical facility at Service Hospitals as well as CSD provisions. BEWARE: IMPERSONATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED CAUTION SELECTION IN THE INDIAN AIR FORCE IS ‘FAIR & TRANSPARENT’ AND ON MERIT ONLY. FOR AGNIVEERVAYU INTAKE 01/2025 DATE SUB-STREAM ACTIVITIES DISTRICTS TO BE COVERED 03 July 2024 to 12 July 2024 Agniveervayu (Musician) Proficiency test in playing musical instruments, English written test, Physical Fitness Test I & II, Adaptability Test-II and Medical Appointments All the districts of all States and all Union Territories of India 18. Pay, Allowances and Allied Benefits. Agniveervayu enrolled under this Scheme will be paid an Agniveer package of Rs. 30,000/- per month with a fixed yearly increment. In addition, Risk and Hardship allowances (as applicable in IAF), Dress and Travel allowances will be paid. Perks such as ration, clothing, accommodation and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) shall also be provided as per the existing rules. 19. Terminal Benefits - Seva Nidhi Package. Agniveervayu will be given one time ‘Seva Nidhi’ package comprising of their monthly contribution along with matching contribution by the Government on completion of their engagement period, as indicated below: - Note 1: Agniveervayu will not be required to contribute to any Provident Fund of the Government. Note 2: There shall be no entitlement to any gratuity and any kind of pensionary benefits. 20. Insurance, Death and Disability Compensation. Agniveervayu will be provided non-contributory Life Insurance cover of Rs. 48 Lakhs for the duration of their engagement period as Agniveervayu in the Indian Air Force. Agniveervayu will not be governed by provisions contained in the Pension Regulations/ Rules for Indian Air Force. For details of Death/ Disability compensation log on to https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in. 21. Agniveer Skill Certificate. At the end of engagement period, a detailed Skill-Set Certificate will be provided to the Agniveervayu, highlighting the skills and level of competency acquired by the personnel during their engagement period. 22. Not Entitled to the ESM Status. Personnel enrolled under this Scheme will not be eligible for Ex-Servicemen status after their discharge from the Service on completion of four years engagement. 23. Agniveervayu will not be permitted to appear in any examination for commissioning in Army/Navy/IAF during the engagement period of four years unless he/she has applied for said exam before getting enrolled. 24. Release at own request prior to completion of engagement period will not be permissible for Agniveervayu. However, in exceptional cases, personnel enrolled as Agniveervayu may be released, with approval of the Competent Authority. SELECTION PROCEDURE 25. Verification of Eligibility. Original Educational Certificates (10th passing Certificate, mark sheet) and other required applicable original documents like NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate, Children of serving Air Force Personnel (COAFP) certificate (or), Discharge Book, Service Book, Service Particular Certificate/ Casualty Service Certificate (or) Discharge Certificate (if discharged from Army/ Navy/ Government Organisation), Consent form, passport size colour photographs and musical experience certificate (as per Para 5 (c) above) shall be required and scrutinized/ verified at the examination venue prior to commencement of Proficiency Test to ascertain the prima-facie eligibility. Detailed verification will be carried out later in respect of candidates who pass Written Test. Those candidates who do not meet the laid down educational criteria shall be rejected during Initial verification of original certificates & marks sheet prior to conduct of Proficiency Test and also during Detailed Verification on clearing the Written Test or if found ineligible at any subsequent stage. Note: The original Passing Certificate/ Marks Sheet will not be retained by the Selection Centre. The same will be returned to the candidates on completion of Detailed Verification. SEQUENCE OF EXAMINATION 26. Proficiency Test in Playing Musical Instruments. Candidates will have to undergo Proficiency Test in playing musical instruments which will be conducted individually or with group of instruments. 27. English Written Test. Candidates who qualify Proficiency Test in playing musical instruments will be subjected to English Written Test. The Written Test will be objective type and question paper shall be in English. Answers are to be annotated on OMR sheet. Detailed procedure shall be explained before conduct of the examination. Duration of the written test will be 30 minutes and shall comprise of English (30 questions) as per Matriculation/ 10th CBSE syllabus. CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY IN ENGLISH PAPER. Results of the written test shall be declared on the same day. Marking Pattern for Written Test (Objective):- (a) 01 mark for every correct answer. (b) Nil (0) marks for un-attempted question. (c) There is no negative marking for wrong answer. (d) Nil (0) marks for giving more than one answer to a question. Note: The question paper is a confidential document of Indian Air Force. All candidates to note and understand that access to the question paper is permitted only during the examination. Question paper in any form whatsoever will not be provided to the candidate after examination. 28. Physical Fitness Test (PFT). PFT consists of two parts i.e. PFT-I and PFT-II. PFT- I: Candidates have to complete 1.6 Kms run as per the following timings to qualify for PFT-II:- . PFT- II: Candidates who qualify PFT-I are to undergo PFT-II after 10 minutes of recuperation time. The sequence of exercises and maximum time period for male and female candidates are as follows:- MALE CANDIDATES: FEMALE CANDIDATES: Note: Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts/track pants. Detailed procedure on expected technique for Push-ups, Sit-ups and Squats is published on CASB Web Portal https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in. 29. Adaptability Test-II. All candidates who pass PFT test will have to undertake Adaptability Test-II as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test-II is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the Military way of life. 30. Medical Examination. Candidates who qualify Adaptability Test-II shall be medically examined in the month of July 24 at AFS Kanpur and AFS Yelahanka. Medical Examination shall be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and policy in vogue on subject issue. Candidates declared medically unfit can avail the option for ‘Appeal Medical Board’ (AMB) against their unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government Treasury/ RBI/ SBI through Electronic Military Receivable Order/ Military Receivable Order (e-MRO/ MRO). The application for AMB along with original copy of e-MRO/ MRO, photocopy of Unfitness Certificate are to be submitted to the representative of 3 ASC & 7 ASC, AF within three working days of medical examination. AMB Centre will be AF Gorakhpur and AFS Jalahalli. 31. The Recruitment Medical Officer and the specialist doctors of Armed Forces are the final authorities on declaring a candidate fit or unfit during initial medical examination, appeal medical board and medical examination prior to enrolment. The candidates shall be governed by Armed Forces standards which may be at variance from civil standards. There is no provision for representation or review after the appeal medical board. Note-1: Candidates are advised to get tartar and stains removed from their teeth before appearing for the Medical Examination. Ears should be free of wax. Candidates should be prepared to stay for the medical examination for four to five days under their own arrangement. No TA/ DA shall be admissible. Note-2: Passing in the medical examination is not a guarantee for employment in the Indian Air Force. Note-3: Request for change of Medical Examination Centre or Date of Medical Examination shall not be entertained. 32. Registration Fee: Registration fee of Rs.100/- plus GST is to be paid online by the candidate while registering for the Recruitment Rally. The payment can be made by Debit Cards/Credit Cards/Internet Banking/UPI through payment gateway. Candidates are advised to follow the instructions/steps given on the payment gateway, and also print/keep transaction details for their records. 33. Refund Of Multiple Payments: If multiple payments are received from a candidate against single application, then that will be refunded back to the originating account after closing of registration and re-conciliation of all payment records. However, if candidate is found to have filled multiple applications, only one application will be accepted and the amount with respect to other applications not considered for recruitment process will not be refunded. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances and shall not be kept in reserve for any other examination or selection. General. 34. General Instructions for candidates are as follows:- (a) The candidates should carry their Aadhaar Card as proof of identity whenever they report for the Selection Test and Medical Test. Candidates from J&K, Ladakh, Assam and Meghalaya who are fulfilling the eligibility conditions to appear in the recruitment rally, are to carry any other valid photo ID Proof, if not in possession of Aadhaar Card. (b) Candidates should be prepared to stay for the entire duration of the tests under their own arrangement. No TA/ DA shall be admissible. (c) Candidates are required to provide an active e-mail ID and mobile number at the time of online registration. This e-mail ID and mobile number will be used by CASB for all communications till culmination of the entire selection process and enrolment for the particular intake. It is also advised to preserve the e-mail ID and password for all future communications. (d) Duplicate/Incomplete/Erroneously filled applications shall be rejected. (e) Candidature of candidates who applied more than once in response to this advertisement and obtained different registration numbers shall be rejected. 35. Publishing of PSL. The Provisional Select List (PSL) will be displayed at 3 ASC C/O Air Force Station Kanpur and 7 ASC, No. 1 Cubbon Road, Bengaluru on 11 November 2024. Display list will also be available at CASB web portal https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in. The inclusion of names of the candidates in the PSL depends upon the performance of the candidates in the rally. INCLUSION OF NAME IN THE PSL DOES NOT GUARANTEE AUTOMATIC ENROLMENT. Enrolment is strictly in order of merit from the PSL subject to medical fitness, availability of vacancies, not exceeding the age of 21 years as on date of enrolment and meeting other laid down eligibility criteria as and when called for enrolment. The validity of PSL shall be six months from the date of display and shall be applicable only for Agniveervayu Intake No. 01/2025. 36. If any such candidate absents himself/herself or expresses unwillingness to join IAF or his/her candidature gets cancelled due to any reason in Musician stream in which he/she was called for enrolment, then the candidate shall be marked as absent/ unwilling/ candidature cancelled in all other PSLs for Agniveervayu published on the same date wherever his/her name figures. 37. Enrolment List. List of candidates finally called for enrolment for Agniveervayu Intake 01/2025 will be published on 28 November 2024. Call letters shall be sent to candidates called for enrolment on their e-mail IDs provided at the time of registration. 38 If there is any variation between English & Hindi/ any other regional language versions of the advertisement, English version shall be taken as authentic. 39. Any CORRIGENDUM/ CHANGES/ UPDATES shall be available ONLY on our web portal https:// agnipathvayu.cdac.in and NO INTIMATION SHALL BE GIVEN IN ANY NEWS PAPER/ ANY OTHER MEDIA.
